A major archeological find was unearthed in Azusa. The prehistoric village of Ashuukshanga (Ah-zoo-saw-naw) was discovered while construction for the Rosedale project was beginning. The aboriginal people who lived here are the Tongva also known as the Gabrieleno-Tongva.
