No, No, No, No, No, No, Yes, Yes

Why am I voting as I am? Why is this election important to me? The bulk of these propositions, in my opinion, are nothing more than retaliation for various groups who stood up against our current Governor.

74: Currently teachers have to wait two years before they have due process guarantees when being disciplined. Up to that point they can be fired without cause. If 74 passes, this time period will be extended to five years for new teachers. A five year long probationary period. That is not reform, it is retaliation. There is already a shortage of teachers in California this will only make matters worse.

75: This is simply a power play to silence public employee unions when it comes to political arenas. This is going to be important in June 2006, when a new attack on our pensions will be voted on again. Many union members who seems to support this proposition are usually misinformed. They already have protections from unions using their dues for political purposes. This makes it almost impossible to use dues in that fashion.

76: Just a bad power play that puts too much power in one branch of government. When one person can wield this much power it is a bad thing.

77: Redistricting mid-census will not accurately reflect the population in the new districts. This again is a ploy to change the political landscape for the June 2006 election.

78: A smoke screen to hide the real proposition on discount medications. This is a voluntary program that says drug companies out of the goodness of their hearts will volunteer to discount drug 40% for certain populations. We have had a program like this in place in California for years... no drug company volunteered in all that time. Like this one is any different.

79: A plan with real teeth. If a drug company wants to be part of the Medical program, they HAVE to give discounts to certain populations in California, around 10 million people. The drug companies are afraid of this proposition because they do not WANT to be forced to discount overpriced drugs.

80: Energy regulation to help avoid the whole Enron summer of the Blackouts scene. This will make sure that we have the power we need, when we need it and not have to pay high prices when demand peaks.

73: This sounds like a good idea, but not all oung ladies have a oving supportive family. This proposition would cause many young ladies to seek alternate methods of dealing with unwanted pregnancies. In a perfect world this might be a great idea. Here and Now... this is not a good idea. It can be dangerous for some young ladies.
